 Cytology

Specializing in gynecologic cytopathology, ROCC provides a broad spectrum of quality services pertaining to cervical cancer and various forms of infection. This services include:

GYN Cytology

Computer-assisted and non-computer assisted ThinPrep Pap smear screening using Hologic imagers, as well as conventional Pap smear screening. ThinPrep Pap screening offers an increase in ASC-US, LSIL, and HSIL detection over the conventional screen, along with a decrease in false-negative and unsatisfactory cases. ThinPrep Pap is the only liquid-based pap test with FDA approval to test HPV, Gonorrhea, and Chlamydia straight from the vial, eliminating the need for co-collecting.

Non-GYN Cytology

Available tests include: anal-rectal cytology, body fluids, breast smears, fine needle aspirations, sputum, breast FNA and thyroid FNA

All cytology cases are completed and reported within 24-48 hours upon receipt in the laboratory (an additional day for quality control and abnormal cases). Pathology over-reads are performed at no extra charge. Specimens may also undergo a mandatory quality control re-screening process.
